Newspeakonline has joined legacy news publishing outlets across the globe to call attention to the challenges confronting journalism in the world today.
The occasion was the 2024 World News Day starting on September, 28, 2024.
Newspeak Media, publishers of newspeakonline and Newspeak magazine, joined global news brands such as the New York Times, CBC News, Reuters, the Washington Post, AFP, The Guardian Foundation, ICFJ and API on the campaign.
Two other Nigerian journalism brands – The Punch and BusinessDay – also supported the campaign.
The 2024 World News Day’s campaign themed ‘Choose Truth,’ called the attention of the world to the importance of good journalism to the growth and survival of democracy, good governance, peace and prosperity of the world.
It highlighted the need for citizens – individual and corporate – to support journalism for the health of the entire society.
The campaign spread contents across media channels globally on the need to choose truth in the face of false narratives and fake news.
