Editors, reporters and non-editorial staff of Newspeak & Associates, publishers of newspeakonline.com, are celebrating the success of hitting the one million readership mark.
The medium hit the mark in July.
In a statement jointly signed by the Consulting Editor and Editor, Adebisi Oladele and Patrick Akpu, respectively, the medium expressed satisfaction with its readership performance till date, though it said the success was still very far from the actual target.
According to the statement, hitting the one million readership mark is no mean feat given the high competitiveness of the online journalism industry in Nigeria.
“We are not taking this for granted. Our readers are our greatest assets as they keep dates with the rich content delivered to them regularly. That’s why we appreciate them.” The statement read in part.
The statement said the medium would stick to the principles of timeliness, balance and integrity guiding its contents, and which distinguish it in the industry.
It promised to build on this initial success by delivering richer contents from now in order to move to the next level in the professional journalism business.
The statement also urged readers to keep faith with the medium and feel free to give feedback in pointing out mistakes on the website.
The medium also promised to accommodate more opinion articles as a way of opening up opportunities for readers to ventilate their perspectives on various topical issues.
It congratulated all members of the newspeakonline team for their dedication and sacrifice, stressing that the future looks bright for all stakeholders.
Newspeakonline was established in 2015 by a team of reporters and IT consultants.
