The Niger Delta University has shut down indefinitely.
The management of the Bayelsa state-owned university said on Wednesday that the school was shut down after protest by some 200 Level Engineering students became violent in the school premises on Tuesday.
The protest was as a result of a new law that any student that fails the three core engineering courses will be withdrawn from the faculty.
After the implementation of the law, over 20 final year engineering students were affected and asked to leave the faculty to continue at 200 Level in another faculty.
