Nigeria Ambassador to Italy, Mfawa Abam, has commended the attitude of diaspora Nigerians in promoting the greatness of the country.
Abam made the commendation while receiving the national leadership of the Yorubas in Italy, who went to pay him a condolence visit over the death of his father, Chief Usani Abam.
The Ambassador appreciated the association for the visit and lauded the sense of unity and the growing trend among Nigerians resident in Italy.
He urged them to always be good ambassadors of the country.
In his remarks, the President, Yoruba National Community in Italy, Mr Kolawole Oladele, applauded the open door policy of the Ambassador and the way he has been addressing the issue of passport and consular services around provinces and regions in Italy, which he said has made lives easier for Nigerians living in Italy.
He implored him to step up the mobile consular services because it has made lives easier for people.
Kolawole also used the opportunity to inform and invite the Ambassador to the forthcoming Yoruba Cultural Day in Italy, which will hold in September this year.
Those who accompanied Oladele on the visit include the immediate past National President of the association, Dr. Dayo Shonaike; Mr. Abayomi Banjo (PRO); Mr. Olabode Adewale (Secretary); and Mr. Kehinde Eniola (National Vice President).
