The Nigerian Army will hold a medical outreach for communities around Apata and environs in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital on Tuesday, December 12, 2018, as part of activities outlined for this year’s Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference scheduled to begin on Sunday.
The medical outreach will hold at Government College, Ibadan main football field, Apata from 7am to 6pm.
The conference with the theme, “Re-appraising the Nigerian Army’s Operational Efficiency in comtaining contemporary National Security Challenges” is being hosted by the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army.
According to a statement signed by Col. Ezindu Idimah, Deputy Director, Army Public Relations, the conference “will among other things provide an opportunity for the Nigerian Army to appraise training and operations activities as well as logistics and administrative matters”.
The statement added that the conference will help the army reflect on its performance in 2017 in order to make projections for 2018.
On Monday, December 12, Major General Ike Nwachukwu(rtd) will deliver a lecture titled “Safeguarding Nigeria’s unity ans Sovereignty: A patriotic and constitutional imperative for the Nigerian Army”.
President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to grace the event as Special Guest of Honour. Other participants include: Commander Training and Doctrine Command, Principal Staff Officers from Defence Headquarters and Army Headquarters, Corps Commanders, General Officers Commanding and Operations Commanders.
Commandants of Nigerian Army/Corps Schools and someselected army officers serving in the tri-service nstitutions, are also expected at the conference.
