Senator Abdulfatai Buhari representing Oyo North Senatorial district at the upper chamber of the National Assembly on Workers Day declared total support for workers’ agitation for increase in minimum wage.
In his meesage to the workers on Monday, Senator Buhari said the quest for new minimum wage is long overdue, and expresses optimism that the executive arm of government will do the needy as soon as possible.
Buhari who is the chairman Senate committee on ICT and Cybercrime also enjoined them not to relent in the contributions to the growth of the nation and their respective states.
His words: “Nigerian workers deserve to be commended for their doggedness and immense contributions to the advancement of Nigeria as a country and it is on this note that I am joining them on this memorable day.
“I also want to use this medium to appeal to them to please corporate with those in the helms of affairs in at the Federal, state, local governments in their bids to take Nigeria out of its present economic situation, our collective responsibilities will go a long way in preparing a better country for the coming generations”.
