The Super Eagles of Nigeria will not be in the 2017 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, making it the second consecutive time.
The Pharoahs of Egypt on Tuesday beat the Samson Siasia led Eagles by 1-0, after getting a 1-1 draw in Kaduna last Friday.
Now, Nigerians are calling for the head of the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Amaju Pinnick. they say he must resign for overseeing an era of loses for the country’s senior football team.
This comes even though Pinnick has apologied to Nigerians over the failure.
In an exclusive chat with footballlive.ng, Pinnick apologized for the outcome of the qualifiers, on behalf of the FA and players of the team.
The FA President equally praised the performance of the team in the two-legged tie and endorsed the supposed comparisons of the current squad to the class of 1994; that won the Afcon title and also debuted at the FIFA World Cup.
But see how the calls are coming on Twitter:
Amaju Pinnick is bringing bad luck to our football. Pls Can he resign voluntarily?
@889BrilaFM Amaju Pinnick should resign honourably before he would be forced out of office like Magari and Galadima.
Amaju Pinnick and his board should go please.
What needs to go wrong before the president of the NFF, Amaju Pinnick will take responsibility and resign?
