The newly elected President of the Great Ife Alumni Association (of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife), Engr. Wale Olaleye has promised never to relent in the effort to harness the huge potentials that abound in the Alumni for the development of their almer- mata.
He gave this assurance while delivering his acceptance speech shortly after his emergence at the 23rd Biennial Convention of the Alumni held at the Conference Centre of the institution on Saturday May 26, 2017.
Engr. Olaleye commended his predecessor for the great work done to uplift the association.
He said he would surely work closely with the university management and all critical stakeholders to achieve great result for the association.
The new Alumni President implored the new executive members and indeed the National Executive Council to put up their thinking caps and start thinking outside the box of new era.
Other members of the executive who were elected unopposed were: Pst (Mrs) Olabisi Adetifa, Vice President, Southwest; Mr Omolaja Shaibu, Vice president, North; Barr.Fred Aburu, Vice President, South south/ Southeast; Mr Fatai Moshood Abiola as 1st National Assistant Secretary; Mr Otavboruo Dafe as the 2nd National Assistant Secretary, Mrs Ajibola Olubunmi Falode as National Publicity Secretary; Mr Dom Nosika Attah as Financial Secretary, Babatunde Ojo as Deputy National Legal Adviser and Arch. Kola Oladunjoye as Editor-in- Chief.
Others are,Mr Ayanyemi Ayandiran as Ex-Officio, Southwest; Mr Adeniyi Olumuyiwa Oduneye as Ex-Officio,North and Alhaji Hakeem Olomowewe,Ex-Officio,South south/ South east.
Performing the swearing – in ceremony, Barr.Jubril Olaposi Omisakin, Emeritus National Secretary of the association said the new executive will pilot the affairs of the alumni association for the next two years.
