The Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile – Ife, has postponed the 43rd Convocation Ceremonies of the university earlier scheduled for December 13 to 16, 2017.
A release by the Public Relations Officer of the University, Mr. Abiodun Olarewaju, said the shift was necessitated by the ongoing strike action of non-teaching staff unions of universities in the country.

The university on Tuesday announced an unexpected End of the Year break due to thestrike that had crippled activities on the campus. Students were advised to go home and return in January as water and electricity supply had been shut down due to the strike.
