A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has declined the bail application made by the detained founder of Oduduwa University, Ile-Ife, Dr. Rahmon Adedoyin.
Adedoyin, whobis one of the suspects in the controversial death of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) master’s student, Timothy Adegoke, had in an ex-parte motion, filed along with a fundamental rights enforcement suit prayed the court to admit him to bail pending the conclusion of investigation by the police or pending the determination of his fundamental rights suit.
On the other hand, he asked for access to quality healthcare facilities of his choosing, while the police conclude its investigation before his possible arraignment.
Adedoyin, who is the owner of Hilton Hotel and Resorts, in Ile Ife, Osun State, has been in custody since November 15, following his arrest over his role in the death of Adegoke.
Ruling, Justice Inyang Ekwo, declined to grant any of the prayers, after listening to Kunle Adegoke (SAN) who led a team of lawyers for Adedoyin.
The judge, however, ordered Adedoyin to serve the motion and other processes in the case on the sole respondent, the Inspector-General of Police, before adjourning the matter till December 9 for hearing.
