But in a tweet this afternoon, Saraki said the police in a letter to him, asked him to respond to the allegations in writing.
He tweeted: “Following my earlier tweet, I have received the letter from @PoliceNG. They are no longer asking me to appear at any station, but to respond in writing to the allegations within 48 hours — which I plan to do”
The announcement comes minutes after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo met behind closed-doors with Saraki and the Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, as well as the Director-General of the State Security Service, Lawal Daura and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami.
Saraki had earlier said he had to dispatch his security detail to the Force Headquarters in Abuja to obtain his invitation after waiting endlessly since Sunday.
