Tobi Alabi, a 200 level student of Osun State University, UNIOSUN, Ikire campus, was on Wednesday, beaten to a coma by a commercial motorcyclist, popularly known as Okada rider.
Reports said trouble started when Tobi, a student in the department of English Education in the university, intervened in a fight between two other female students at the school’s gate. The Okada rider was not pleased by Tobi’s action
Recounting his ordeal, Tobi said: “I saw two female students fighting at the campus gate and I quickly moved to separate them so that they would not injure themselves.
“But the Okada riders at the spot who were watching the fight with keen interest and enjoying the drama themselves did not want me to stop them from fighting.
“The Okada riders insisted that I should allow the students to fight on but I said I would not do that because the girls could injure each other.
‘’As I separated the ladies, one of the Okada riders hit me with a stick and that was all I could remember until I was revived by some good samaritans who helped me when I fainted.’’
