Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has reshuffled his cabinet, dropping two Commissioners and nominating a new one.
According to a statement issued by the Secretary to the State Government, Festus Ovie Agas, the governor dropped the Commissioner for Health, Dr Nicholas Azinge and Commissioner for Arts and Culture, Dr Dan Okenyi.
Dr Mordi Ononye was nominated and his name has been sent to the State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation.
Four other members of the cabinet were redeployed as follow:
1. Hon Asupa Forteta – Ministry of Urban Renewal
2. Chief Karo Ilolo – Directorate of Youth Development
3. Hon. Bright Edejewhro – Ministry of Science and Technology
4. Hon. Joyce Overah – Directorate of Local Government Affairs
The governor thanked the two Commissioners that have left the cabinet for their “loyalty, commitment and sense of duty which marked their stewardship”, and wished them siccess in all their future endeavours.
The statement urged them to “kindly handover all government properties in their possession to the Permanent Secretaries of their former Ministries” in line with public service standards.
