A candidate for a seat in the Oyo State House of Assembly seeking to represent Ido cnstituency, Hon. Obatunde Oladapo, has promised to sponsor bills and programmes that have direct impact on the people of his constiency, if elected.
Oladapo, who is contesting on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), made the promise at his campaign office while addressing newsmen on his plans for the development of the constituency.
Oladapo said he will partner with agricultural institutes like the International Institutes of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) to empower the youth and train them in modern approach and methods in farming.
He said he will sponsor a bill to help decongest traffic on Apata- Omi Adio road. He said new roads will be opened for easy movement of goods and people in the area, and he will ensure people of the constituency are part of the decision making process.
Oladapo stressed that he will make laws that will empower people with disabilities having worked for various NGOs before taking up government appointment. He noted that he understands the challenges people with disabilities encounter regularly because of his background, hence his total committment to their welfare.
He said his foray into politics is not for power but to bring fresh ideas and initiate policies that will have positive impact on the lives of the people.
He commended Governor Abiola Ajimobi for transforming the state in last seven and a half years especially for the Ibadan Urban Flood Management Project (IUFMP) which has reduced incidents of flood that ravaged the local government area in the past.
He urged the people of the constituency to keep voting for APC candidates describing the pary as the only one that can alleviate their suffering.
