A candidate for the House of Representatives on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Oyo state, Dr. Wasiu Olatubosun, has urged his party leaders and members to apply revolutionary conducts in their mobilisation exercises ahead of the 2019 general elections in the state.
He gave the charge on Thursday at two separate meetings with the Ibadan North West and South West chapters of the party.
Residents and traders at Idi-Ikan, Ogunoa, Agbaje and adjoining markets in Ibadan North Wst thronged the streets to welcome the former local government boss who, in turn, thanked them for their love and support.
Olatubosun commended the members of the Unity Forum, a breakaway faction from the All Progressives Congress (APC) now in the ADC, who gathered at the popular Adebisi’s residence hall, Idi-Ikan, saying they remained loyal and steadfast in spite of inducement, intimidation and harassment from the ruling party.
He stressed the need for the ADC to collaborate with like minds to step up advocacy across the wards to woo more opinion moulders and eligible voters.
He assured the crowd of excellent leadership and representation by the ADC candidates if voted in for various positions.
At another meeting held at NUJ press centre, Iyaganku, Ibadan, Olatubosun charged local government and ward chairmen of the ADC in Ibadan South West Local Government to double up their efforts in combing the grassroots to raise awareness and canvass support for all the candidates of the party to ensure victory at the polls.
In his response, Hon. Gbenga Aluko the ADC Ibadan South West local government chapter, on behalf of chairmen of the 12 wards of the area promised Dr. Olatubosun that they would increase efforts in winning more people for the party.
