Super Eagles goalkeeper and captain, Vincent Enyeama, has withdrawn from the upcoming AFCON 2017 qualifier against Tanzania and the friendly against Niger, giving Coach Sunday Oliseh the headache of making last minute adjustments.
Oliseh told reporters on Wednesday that the Lille goalkeeper would not be able to make it for the trip to Tanzania but no reason was given.
His words: “[Enyeama] asked to be withdrawn from this game, for which reason I don’t know, I think you have to ask him personally.
“The late withdrawal has put me in a very tight situation because I must confess that the task ahead of us is a very difficult one and I didn’t need this extra burden.
“We’re practically starting this team from the scratch, it’s not very pleasant but that’s life”.
Goalkeeper Carl Ikeme of Wolverhampton Wanderers is expected to replace Enyeama in goal.
