The body of late Olubadan of Ibadan land, Oba Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, was interred at his Aliiwo ancestral home around 4.30pm, on Friday.
The late monarch, who reigned for two years and three days, died at the age of 81 on Thursday night at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, after a brief illness.
There was a lying-in-state at Mapo Hall between 12pm to 1pm before the body of the monarch was moved to Aliiwo for burial after prayers.
Chief Imam of Ibadan land, Alhaji Abdulganiyu Agbotomokekere led the Muslim faithful to pray for the late monarch before the remains was interred.
Oyo State deputy governor, Barr Bayo Lawal, led other government functionaries to the family burial ground at Aliiwo.
Other dignitaries at the event include former Minister of Special Duties, Elder Wole Oyelese; Are Musulumi of Yoruba land, Edo and Delta States, Alhaji Daud Akinola, younger brother of the deceased, Sen Kola Balogun, among others.
