Former deputy governor of Osun State, Senator Iyiola Omisore, has indicated his interest to contest the position of National Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) in the forthcoming national convention of the party, scheduled for March 26.
Commissioner for Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations in Osun State, Taiwo Akeju, who disclosed this to newsmen in Osogbo, on Friday, said Governor Adegboyega Oyetola and other stakeholders of the ruling party in Osun State are in support of Omisore’s ambition.
Akeju, who is an associate of Omisore, said the two-term Senator had picked a form to contest for the position.
He said: “Governor Oyetola is supporting him (Omisore) and other party stakeholders are also in support of this project. He has picked the form.”
Also, a statement personally signed by Omisore, said the former deputy governor has submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms.
Omisore promised to ensure transparent and inclusive party administration.
