Super Eagles forward, Victor Osimhen, has revealed that he would be fit for the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon next month.
He made this known via his Twitter handle amid reports that Super Eagles officials would be meeting to decide on players to be invited.
There had been doubt over the player’s availability after sustaining an injury to his cheekbone and eye socket and subsequent surgery.
Th 2021 Africa Cup of Nations is scheduled to kick off on January 9, 2022, in Cameroon.
“I will be available for AFCON unless I’m not among the players picked to represent Nigeria,” Osimhen tweeted.
According to reports, Napoli doctors will be with Osimhen when the the three-time African champions begin preparations for the biennial competition in Cameroon.
Osimhen, who has been training individually at his base in Naples after undergoing surgery on, is expected to be listed in the Eagles squad for the tournament.
Osimhen scored nine goals in 14 games before his injury for Napoli and he was also the joint top scorer during the AFCON qualifying series, notching up five goals.
