Men of the Osun State Police Command have arrested a suspected armed robber in front of a bank in Osogbo, after one of his former victims identified him and raised an alarm.
It was gathered that the suspect had few months ago dispossessed a man of his motorcycle around Kelebe area of Osogbo, the Osun State capital, and inflicted severe injury on his victim.
However, his luck ran out when his victim went to make a cash withdrawal at the bank. On sighting the suspect, the victim confronted him and raised an alarm to notify the people that an armed robber was around.
People immediately gathered around them. After he was searched, two pistols and charms were recovered from the armed robber.
The angry mob swooped on him and he was beaten to a pulp before police rescued him in the process of being lynched.
The assistant image maker of the Osun State Police Command, ASP Theophilus Adekola, confirmed the incident, adding that two pistols were recovered from the suspect.
“Investigation is still ongoing and the suspected armed robber would be charged to court soon,” he added.
