Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola, has disowned the post on his social media pages following the declaration of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Sen Ademola Adeleke, as the winner of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
Aregbesola had around 8am on Sunday reacted to the election in a post on his social media pages, titled, ‘Osun Le Tente’ (Osun excelled).
He posted a bible verse, Daniel 4:17, exalting God’s power to place control in the hands of whoever He wishes.
“This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men.” – (Daniel 4:17),” the minister posted on his social media pages.
The post was later deleted.
However, a statement posted on Aregbesola’s social media pages by his media adviser, Sola Fasure, on Sunday, asked the general public to ignore the “unauthorised message” earlier posted on the minister’s social media pages.
“It has come to the attention of the media office of the Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, that an unauthorized message was posted on his Verified Twitter & Facebook Pages at about 8:00am on Sunday 17th July, 2022.
“The unauthorized messages have now been deleted. Members of the public, especially the media, are advised to ignore!” Fasure’s statement read.
