Some party agents have already made subtle attempts to buy the votes of some Osun people ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
INEC and the police had put measures in place to check vote buying at the elections by banning the use of phones at the voting cubicle and discouraging the sharing of money around the voting centres.
But some parties have found ways to beat the rule. Agents of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All Progressives Congress (APC) are reported to have distributed money amd items, days before the election.
Some agents suspected to be working for the PDP on Friday shared N1000 to those who could show their Permanent Voters Card (PVC) at several units and wards in Ikire.
While some people got money, others reportedly got 10kg bag of rice. And still, some people got extra cash and extra rice.
Agents of the APC were also reported to have distributed N500 to prospective voters on Wednesday.
Newspeakonline gathered that at Olorunsogo Community – Oke-Awere, Owode Ede, some party agents shared out N500 each to artisans, bike riders and market women.
