Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has won his polling unit with a wide margin in the ongoing governorship election in the state.
In the result declared at his Ward 1, Unit 2, Boripe Local Government Area, Oyetola polled 545 votes to defeat his closest challenger and Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) governorship candidate, Ademola Adeleke, who got 69 votes.
Also, a former governor of the state and APC chieftain, Chief Bisi Akande, won his polling unit for the ruling party.
In Akande’s polling unit of ward 04, Isedo, Ila-Orangun Local Government Area, the PDP polled 117 while APC had 140 votes.
The APC also secured victory in the polling unit of Minister of Interior, Rauf Aregbesola.
Although Aregbesola, the immediate past governor of the state, failed to show up for the election, his party fought off the PDP to emerge victorious.
APC’s Oyetola polled 164 votes in the polling unit situated in Isare Ward 8, Ilesa East, to defeat PDP’s Adeleke who secured 134 votes.
In the same being, the APC National Secretary, Sen Iyiola Omisore, won his polling unit for the party.
Oyetola, who is seeking re-election, polled 192 votes after the counting of the ballots at the polling unit 003, Ward 1, Ife East Local Government Area.
His closest rival and PDP candidate, Adeleke, polled 168 votes.
In Unit 004, Ward 1, Ife East, which is at the same location where Omisore voted, Oyetola polled 186 votes to defeat Adeleke, who got 162 votes.
