The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Mr. Adebayo Adelabu has promised to establish a students’ consultative forum that will interface between his government and students in the state, if elected.
A statement by Dr. Bayo Busari, spokesman for the Friends of Bayo Adelabu Independent Campaign Group (FOBA ICG), said the governorship candidate made the promise at a meeting with the leadership of Oyo State students’ associations in tertiary institutions.
The students, led by NANS JCC Chairman in Oyo State, Moronkola Teslim and Federation of Oyo State Students (FOSSU) Senate President, Wasiu Oke, also declared support for Adelabu’s candidature, expressng confidence in his ability to lead the state to a greater height.
Meanwhile, members of the Professional Videographers Association of Nigeria (PVAN), have endorsed Adelabu ahead of the March 2 governorship election.
Busari in his statement, disclosed that PVAN members gave their endorsement in a meeting with FOBA ICG earlier on Tuesday.
PVAN Governor, Prince Niyi Olanrewaju, was quoted as saying that the association was ready to mobilise its more than 22,000 members to work tirelessly for Adelabu’s success at the polls.
Olanrewaju lauded Adelabu’s leadership of the Oyo State Security Trust Fund and his contribution towards the establishment of the First Technical University, Ibadan.
His words: “The people of Oyo State have enjoyed relative peace through the effort of the security trust fund that you head. Not only this, your uncommon contribution to the establishment of the Technical University has not gone unnoticed.
“It is our belief that if you could do all this, aside your various philanthropic activities, you best suited to be the number one man in Oyo State, come May 29, 2019.
Olanrewaju however urged the APC candidate to run an all-inclusive government if he becomes governor.
FOBA ICG Chairman, Mogaji Remi Babalola who received the leadership of PVAN thanked the association for endorsing Adelabu. He said his group decided to support because of the confidence they have in his ability to lead the state with fairness and equity.
