The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State has announced the passing away of its Director of Finance and Administration, Chief Ajibola Lateef Owoade (JP) who died at the University College Hospital, Ibadan residence on Tuesday at the age of 73 years during a brief illness.
Chief Owoade, popularly known as A-L-O, was one of the sons of the late First Republic Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Chief Saka Owoade. He was until his death a leader of the APC in Ibadan South East Local Government in addition to being the head of personnel at the state secretariat of the governing Party.
In a statement issued by its Director of Publicity and Strategy, Olawale Sadare, the APC described the transition of Chief Ajibola Owoade as most shocking, painful and unfortunate “in view of the fact that he was a committed party faithful, amiable community leader and seasoned administrator whose invaluable to the society was still needed.
“Chief Owoade would sorely be missed by the progressive family in Oyo state and beyond. He was a man of experience, passion and dedication whose love for fatherland and humanity was excellent. His demise at this particular time has left a vacuum within our great party which would be difficult to fill but we take solace in the fact that he lived a fruitful and impactful life.
“On behalf of the State Executive Committee, members and supporters of our great Party, we wish him eternal rest and pray God almighty to uphold the family he left behind and grant all the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.” The statement said.
