The Oyo State Road Transport Management Authority(OYRTMA), on Tuesday said it impounded 67 articulate vehicles conveying non-essential goods and travellers from the northern part of the country into the state.
The Chairman, OYRTMA, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi, who made the disclosure, said the 67 trucks were impounded based on intelligence reports that some elements were trying to outsmart the security agencies at entry points into the state.
“Six fake OYRTMA officials were also arrested and handed over to the police for further investigation,” he added.
The OYRTMA boss, who said bad eggs would be eased out of the agency, warned those flouting the inter-state lockdown directive to desist from doing so or face stiff sanctions.
