Oyo State has recorded 76 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the number of confirmed infections on the state to 988.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known in a post on Twitter.
According to data obtained on the NCDC website, Oyo State currently has 688 active cases, while 291 patients have been discharged. The state has recorded nine COVID-19- related deaths.
Governor Seyi Makinde had on Monday said that the COVID-19 patients being managed at the state’s isolation facilities are cases with only severe symptoms or cases that can’t self-isolate safely at home.
He said that based on the protocols the state COVID-19 Task Force has been using to manage confirmed cases with satisfactory outcomes, the state’s isolation centres are only managing the two categories of patients.
