The Executive Secretary, Oyo State Health Insurance Agency (OYSHIA), Dr. Sola Akande, has revealed the conditions for registering in the state’s health insurance scheme.
Speaking on a radio programme over the weekend, Akande said that to register on the scheme, the enrollee must not have any pre-existing conditions, adding that if the enrollee have any ailment, it should be discussed with the agency first in order to know the category such enrollee will be placed.
Akande explained that the standard price for an individual is N8,000 per annum while the premium price is N28,000 per annum, which is for father, mother and two children.
He further explained that the free ongoing enrollment for basic health care provision will continue this week.

The Executive Secretary stressed that the minimum number of enrollees for each local government is 1,000, noting that the agency is working with the national health insurance, primary health care body and the Ministry of Health in Oyo State.
Akande further explained that the agency has been sensitising a number of religious organisations on why they should join the insurance scheme.
