The Osun State government has sworn in the newly elected local government parliamentarians marking rhe beginning of the parliamentary system of government in the state local councils.

The councillors took oath of office today at Bola Ige House Abere with Chief Justice of the State, Mrs Adepele Ojo, administering the oath.

The parliamentary style local government elections took place last week with the All Progressives Congress sweeping the polls as councillors were elected.

Under the new system, the councillors in each local government would form a parliament and elect from themselves the local government chairman.
