A man said to be a pastor has reportedly beaten his wife to death in Uli, Anmbra state.
The pastor, a retired boxer simply identified as Everistus, reportedly pounced on his wife because she asked for money with which to cook for the family on Christmas day.
According to Breaking Times, youths from the deceased’s neighbouring village of Amamputu, also in Uli, were said to have descended on Everistus’ country home setting it ablaze.
The report said several charms and idols were discovered in the house of the purported pastor. The items found included a human statue clothed with the apron of Our Lord Chosen Church, whose local branch, the suspect is said to be in charge of.
Everistus fled after commiting the crime, the report said.
