The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied allegations that its agents were involved in the buying of votes during the governorship election held in Ekiti State at the weekend.
As the elections got underway on Saturday, images emerged purportedly showing agents of the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC) openly paying voters. The two parties reportedly gave between N3000 and N5000 to every voter they could reach.
Domestic and international election observers confirmed in a report released on Tuesday, that open cash exchange for votes took place during the polls which was won by the All Progressives Congress candidate, Kayode Fayemi.
