Oyetola Gboyega has been sworn in as the new governor of Osun State. The Chief Judge of the state, Oyebola Ojo, administered the oath of office on the new governor at exactly 12:55pm at the Osogbo Township Stadium.
The stadium was filled up with with top politicians including APC leaders, members of the National Assembly and the Osun State House of Assembly; traditional rulers, civil servants, artisans, students, market women, itinerary drummers and others.
In attendance were Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) who represented President Muhammadu Buhari; Adams Oshiomhole, National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and a national leader of the APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and his wife, Senator Oluremi Tinubu.
Expectedly, outgone governor, Rauf Aregbesola and his wife, Kafayat, were also present.
Also present were Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi; Kano State Governor, Abdulahi Ganduje; his Lagos State counterpart Akinwumi Ambode; Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi and his wife Florence, his Ondo State counterpart, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu and another national leader of the party, Chief Bisi Akande.

The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi and the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola were also in attendance.
King Wasiu Ayinde Marshall 1 (KWAM 1) was on the band stand to thrill the audience.
Aregbesola, Akeredolu, dance like old friends
Oyetola’s predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola and Ondo State governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, who were onown to be in discord, were seen displaying friendship and dancing like childhood friends.
While Aregbesola is known to be an unrepentant Tinubu’s follower, Akeredolu is generally believed to have fallen apart from the former Lagos State governor to pitch his tent with President Mohammadu Buhari and some other APC leaders in Southwest who are opposed to Tinubu.
