Many Christian young people are usually faced with challenges in making vital marraige decisions. One dilemma is centered on whose counsel is superior and whose counsel should be sought first between the pastor and the parents.
But Pastor Folu Adeboye, wife of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has said that there should be no confusion about whose counsel to seek first.
Mrs Adeboye, speaking at the ongoing RCCG Annual Youth Convention, was reported to have advised young people planning to get married to seek their pastors’ counsel before that of their parents.
Her view was revealed via a tweet from the church’s official Twitter handle.
According to her, the move will help avoid confusion in the house of the Lord.
Her words: “There should be no confusion in the house of God. You have to go to your Pastor first to consult for marriage before your parent”.
According to Pastor Adeboye, “every family foundation must come from God most especially those who are Christians.”
Advising young intending couples further, the pastor stressed: “when you attain the age of marriage pray to God for the right choice.”
She advised intending couples to be sure they are on a good financial footing before dabbling into marriage because frustration may set in. She also harped on honesty in courtship.
