Osun State Police Command has arrested popular businessman in Ile-Ife, Chief Rahmon Adedoyin, over the death of one Timothy Adegoke.
Adegoke, until his death, was a masters student of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, and was said to have come to take an examination at the OAU Distance Learning Centre, Moro Campus of the university, when he was declared missing.
The spokesperson for Osun Police Command, Yemisi Opalola, had earlier stated that a case of a missing person was reported November 7, at Edun Abon Police Station, adding that the matter was later transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for investigation on November 9, 2021.
Opalola also said after the matter was received at the SCID, detectives swung into action and arrested six suspects in connection with the matter.
But Opalola in another statement on Wednesday, explained that in addition to the previous arrest, “the chairman of Hilton Hotel and Resort, Ile-Ife, Dr Ramon Adegoke Atobatele Adedoyin was also arrested on 15th November, 2021.
“He is currently in police detention, undergoing interrogation in connection with the case, while awaiting the autopsy report from the hospital.”
