Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of a top officer of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Sulaimon Onaolapo, popularly known as Arikuyeri.
Onaolapo, was reportedly macheted to death by assailants suspected to be members of a rival NURTW group, on Sunday.
The command’s spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed the death of one person added that normalcy has been restored.
“Normalcy has been restored in the area. One person was killed. No arrest has been made yet,”Hundeyin tweeted.
Arikuyeri was until his death the chairman of Mile 12 motor park.
The battle over supremacy in motor parks around Mile 12 area of the state has resulted in several clashes, before the one that claimed the life of the NURTW boss.
