The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed Constable Liyomo Okoi, the police officer caught on camera flogging a civilian with cutlass in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
This was contained in a statement issued on Monday by the Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi.
Adejobi urged members of the public not to have any official dealings or transactions with the dismissed officer.

GROSS MISCONDUCT: NPF has dismissed PC LIYOMO OKOI, Force No 524503,attached to Ekori Divisional Police Headquarters, Cross River State, who was captured in a video that went viral on 31st July, 2022, where he was flogging a civilian with cutlass, with effect from today 8th August, 2022.
He is ceased to be a member of the NPF, and we urge members of the public not to have any official dealings or transactions with him henceforth.
