The secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo state has been sealed of by police as the crisis rocking the party over the sack of the State Chairman, Mr Isaac Kekemeke continues to rage.
This came as the national leadership of the party waded into the crisis of confidence rocking its chapter and has consequently summoned all parties to the dispute for an emergency meeting.
A bloody clash had erupted between supporters of three governorship aspirants, who sacked the chairman and his supporters at the secretariat on Wednesday.
The clash, which turned bloody ensued when supporters of the chairman attempted to dislodge those who sacked him and had been occupying the secretariat since Tuesday. the situation was brought under control by the police.
The aggrieved party members, who sealed the party secretariat, on Tuesday, had converged in order to prevent members of the executive, from gaining access to the secretariat.
The new chairman, Saka Yusuf Ogunleye, who pronounced himself as Kekemeke’s replacement had sat at the entrance of the secretariat with his supporters waiting to be ushered into the secretariat when some party members came with cudgel, cutlass and dangerous weapons.
Vanguard reports that the party members were led by one Alhaji Amoda Bello, a former leader of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
The newspaper also reports that the Deputy National Secretary of the party, Oji Ngofa stated that a meeting of all parties involved in the dispute has been called.
According to Ngofa who spoke to journalists at the national secretariat of the party, the leadership of the party has not endorsed any aspirant for its forthcoming governorship primary election in the state, adding that a meeting called to resolve the dispute would hold on Saturday.
Stones, sticks and other dangerous weapons were freely used by the aggrieved members until they dislodged the aggrieved members.
After they had successfully dislodged the new chairman, Bello and other party loyalists opened the party state secretariat and allowed the Secretary, Mr Rahman Rotimi to gain access to his office. Other employees of the party were also allowed into their offices.
