The official Twitter handle of online news platform,PremiumTimes, which was hacked on Friday evening has been regained by the medium.
The management of the news platform confirmed this in a statement on Saturday morning, saying it now had full control of the account.
After being hacked by some suspected fraudsters, the account was seen sharing crypto-related content on Friday.
The Premium Times management had in a statement noted that the hackers changed the login details of the account.
The statement said, “At about 4:52 p.m. Nigerian time on Friday, Premium Times Twitter account (@PremiumTimesng) was hacked. The hackers have since posted unsavoury tweets on the account and have changed the login details, even with 2FA enabled.”
“We urge our readers and the public to discountenance any tweet from the account for now and apologise for any inconveniences caused,” it added, saying it had formally contacted Twitter to recover the account.
Announcing that it had regained the account, Premium Times tweeted: “This is to inform our esteemed readers that we have regained control of our Twitter account which was hacked a few hours ago. We are now in full control of our @premiumtimesng. We thank you all for your support and patronage.”
