President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, on Saturday extended an invitation to President Muhammadu Buhari for his participation at the forthcoming 9th Summit of D8, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
The summit would come up at the end of October in Istanbul, Turkey.
Shehu said Erdogan also congratulated President Buhari on his remarkable recovery from an undisclosed illness that took him to London where he stayed for more than three months.
The Turkish leader, Shehu said, also exchanged Eid greetings with President Buhari.
The statement said: “Both leaders wished each other good health and success in their endeavours and extended their greetings and good wishes to the citizens of their friendly countries.
“The two leaders also discussed at length, the forthcoming 9th Summit of D8, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation at the end of October in Istanbul.
“Mr Erdogan extended an invitation to President Buhari for his participation.
“President Buhari expressed his gratitude for the good wishes”.
