The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has made a slight adjustment to the interview timetable for job seekers.
In a statement on Tuesday, the board said the interview session scheduled for Tuesday, August 20, 2024 clashes with Isese Day, which is a public holiday in state.
Recall that Isese Day has been set aside by the Oyo State Government to celebrate indigenous Yoruba culture and tradition as well as the preservation of the Yoruba heritage. It is celebrated annually on August 20 by adherents of the Yoruba traditional religion.
The statement noted that the chairman of the board, Dr. Nureni Adeniran, having recognised the importance of the day, swiftly rescheduled the interview date to Monday, August 26, 2024.
Adeniran, who emphasised the need to respect cultural practices, maintained that all candidates will have equal opportunities to participate in the last stage of the recruitment exercise.
“In view of this observation, the affected LGAs whose interviews were slated for Tuesday, August 20, 2024 have been rescheduled to Monday,” the chairman stated.
The affected local government areas affected are Saki West, Saki East, Irepo, Oriire, Olorunsogo, Orelope, Ogbomoso North and Ogbomoso South.
Adeniran called for strict compliance with the rescheduled timetable.
He added that the decision has been met with widespread approval from stakeholders who appreciate the sensitivity and responsiveness shown by the board.

Thursday, August 15, 2024: Akinyele, Afijio, and Ibarapa Central LGAs
