EFCC investigators looking into the arms procurement scandal former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki, is being charged for, have reportedly uncovered a link of payment between him and Thisday publisher and owner of Arise TV, Nduka Obaigbena.
According to SaharaReporters, an EFCC source as saying that Obaigbena received at least N650million from Dasuki for questionable transactions.
The source claimed that the EFCC have not been able to reach Obaigbena, but the online news medium said it reached out Mr. Obaigbena, who said he was in New York.
He was quoted as saying that prior to his trip to New York, he had been at meetings in London, and will return to Nigeria when he is through with his visit to New York.
Obaigbena, who is also the Chairman of the Newspaper Proprietors Association Of Nigeria reportedly admitted that his newspaper company received a letter from the EFCC and that a response had been sent to explain what they know about the case involving Raymond Dokpesi’s Daar Communications.
But he reportedly denied receiving any monies from the former NSA.
Recall that Dokpesi was arrested last week for receiving N2.1billion from Dasuki.
