The House of Representatives on Tuesday passed the new National Minimum Wage Bill of N30,000 for workers in the country.
The amount was approved during plenary presided over by the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara, after the bill was read and passed for the third time on the floor of the House.
The green chambers held a public hearing on the new Minimum Wage Bill on Monday where the organised labour, workers in the civil service and the private sector made contributions on the Bill sent to the National Assembly by the president last Wednesday.
The lawmakers did not deliberate on the 2019 Appropriation Bill, which is still before the House.
Plenary was adjourned till February 19, after the presidential and National Assenbly elections.
