Three commissioners in Oyo State who tested positive to COVID-19 have been identified by Newspeakonline.
Investigations by this online newspaper showed that the Commissioner for Youths and Sport, Mr Seun Fakorede; Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, Prof. Raphael Afonja and their Information counterpart, Dr Wasiu Olatubosun were those who tested positive to coronavirus earlier this week.
Governor Seyi Makinde had announced on Wednesday that three members of the State Executive Council tested positive to the virus but he did not disclose their identities.
He tweeted: “Earlier today, we received COVID-19 confirmation tests for all members of the Oyo State Executive Council (EXCO). Sadly, three tests came back positive, and two were inconclusive so they will need to be retested.”
Fakorede also tweeted Thursday evening that though he tested positive, he was asymptomatic.
Makinde ordered testing of EXCO members to ensure that everyone of them could ascertain their COVID-19 status. The governor tested positive early April and survived after self isolation and successful treatment.
