Hours ago, two U.S. warships fired dozens of cruise missiles from the eastern Mediterranean Sea at the airbase controlled by President Bashar al-Assad’s forces in response to the poison gas attack in a rebel-held area in Syria on Tuesday.
Russia and Iran have kicked agianst the US action but Britain commends it.
According to Russia, an Assad ally, the US airstrikes in Syria violate international law and do significantly damage to US-Russia ties.
Iran said the unilateral action taken by the US “is dangerous and destructive”.
But a UK government spokesman said: “The UK government fully supports the U.S. action which we believe was an appropriate response to the barbaric chemical weapons attack launched by the Syrian regime and is intended to deter further attacks”
Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu said: “In both word and action, Trump sent a clear message that the use and spread of chemical weapons will not be tolerated”
