Over the weekend, Arsenal striker, Alexis Sanchez was strongly linked with a move to Manchester United after he said he expressed strong desire to play in the Champions League which Arsenal will be out of in the 2017/18 season.
He was quoted by Chilean press as saying: “I’ve made my decision, now I wait for Arsenal’s reply. The idea is to play and win the Champions League. I’ve dreamt about it since I was a kid.”
In response to Sanchez’ statement, Wenger, who has remained resolute on his decision to keep the Chilean, said Arsenal has decided not to sell the player.
British media on Tuesday, quoted him as saying: “The decision has been made and we will stick to that. The decision is not to sell.
“I don’t give too much importance to things that are translated, you know.
“The whole interview that I got didn’t really mean that”
‘The main focus for us is to concentrate on the Premier League and the Premier League for me today is more important than the Champions League.’
