“The recently organised security summit held at Ibadan House, Oke Aremo, as well as your representation at the event was commendable, this is the first time such event will take place ahead of the general elections.
“We also thank you for the prosecution of destroyers of various campaign billboards of political parties; this will not only promote required peaceful coexistence, but will also foster political stability expected at this period, we appreciate you and identify your good work and professionalism,” they said.
The Mogajis pledged their cooperation and support in putting an end to various criminal activities in Ibadan land and its environs.
Responding, Williams said though security of lives and property in the state remains the core duty of the police, people also need to play their role and contribute their quota to ensure adequate security in the state.
He thanked the ICPI and the Mogajis for the letter of commendation and equally promise to ensure that the peace currently being enjoyed in Ibadan land and Oyo State is sustained, warning hoodlums and trouble makers to steer clear of the state or face the music.
