Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, Senator Abdulfatai Buhari has written to the Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, to request for urgent action on Iseyin-Oyo roads and Igbeti- Ilorin road
Travellers currently experience nightmare along the Iseyin – Oyo road sometimes spending up to five hours for a less than one hour journey. The Iseyin to Moniya road which would have been an alternative route is equally as bad.
Apart from the terrible state of the road linking Igbeti to Ilorin, Kwara state capital, a major bridge on that route has collapsed making it difficult for motorists to move freely.
Senator Buhati in his letter Fashola stated that: “The two bridges on the roads linking the entire Oke Ogun axis had broken down, thus affecting free movement in particular, and the economic activities in general.
“We appeal to you on these roads which house 10LGS in my Senatorial District. They are the only two roads that link the entire Oke Ogun axis to the state. Oyo /Iseyin serves as the west axis, while Igbeti –Ilorin serves as the North Axis”.
“The 10 LGS are, Iseyin Itesiwaju, Kajola, Iwajowa, Orelope, Saki West, Saki East, Olorunsogo Irepo, Atisbo”.
