“Oba Odulana was a man of good reputation, a ruler who spent his entire life serving Ibadan and Nigeria at large meritoriously. He was a father anyone could rely on because of his forthrightness, courage and candor. He was very popular among his people and Nigeria as a whole.
“As one of my highly responsible constituents, Kabiyesi will be sorely missed.”
The senator also commiserated with the Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, the Olubadan-In-Council, his immediate family members and the entire Ibadan indigenes on his demise.
Rather than mourn, Senator Sunmonu said everyone should take solace in the fact that the late Olubadan lived a life worthy of emulation.
Stressing that death is a necessary end of every living being, the lawmaker urged his family and the entire Ibadan indigenes to sustain Oba Odulana’s good deeds and legacies, which she emphasized, will continue to place Ibadan high among cities of the world.
Oba Odulana died on Tuesday at the age of 101 years. He ascended the throne nine years ago.
