Sadio Mane netted the winning spot-kick to hand Senegal the competition trophy.
The Liverpool attacker had seen a seventh-minute penalty saved by Egypt’s goalkeeper, Abou Gabaski.
Senegal had previously lost two AFCON finals in the past, most recently the 2019 edition, where they lost to Algeria in the final.
