The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Imohimi Edgal, has ordered full scale investigations into the alleged killing of a police sergeant attached to a petrol station at Igando.
The robbers reportedly raided over three filling stations along the LASU-Idimu road last week during which a mobile police sergeant attached to one of the petrol stations was shot dead and several others injured.
A police source identified the deceased as Sergeant Akor.
One of the victims, a soldier who pleaded anonymity, told Daily Trust that the robbers “stormed the petrol station in a commando style of operation in a Honda car.
According to him, “They targeted us where I was standing with those police officers near one of the parked petrol tankers, hitting us with the car with a view to crushing us, we fell down and I hit the floor sustaining this wound on my face and immediately they started shooting indiscriminately and one of the bullets hit my leg and I ran for cover.”
Narrating how sergeant Akor was killed, Frances Adeleke, who was at the scene of the crime, said the deceased confronted the robbers without his gun.
